Peace Essay Contest for Middle School Students in Casa Grande

THEME: “A Letter from Myself in 2030”
Imagine what an ideal world ten years from now would be like. Write a letter from yourself in 2030 to your present (2020) self, in which you describe the state of the world, the way people are living, and what you, yourself, are doing in society. In addition, include any important message that you might wish to tell your present self.
 
Essay Contest Guidelines
  1. Essays may be submitted by anyone entering sixth, seventh or eighth grades for the 2020-2021 school year. 
  2. Essays must be 700 words or less. Essays may be typed or printed.
  3. Entries may be submitted via email to bobshogren1960@gmail.com or by mail to Casa Grande Daybreak Rotary, PO Box 13152, Casa Grande Arizona 85130-3152
  4. Entries must include the following information: (1) your name, (2) Grade for 2020-2021, (3) address and phone, (4) school name, (5) your essay title, and (6) word count
  5. Entries missing any of the above information will not be considered.
  6. Only one entry per person is accepted.
  7. Essays must be original and unpublished. Plagiarized entries will be rejected.
  8. Essays must be written by one person. Co-authored essays are not accepted.
  9. We will provide a confirmation receipt of essays
Awards and Recognition
  1. The top five essays selected by the panel of judges will receive a cash prize of $100 and commendation
  2. The five (5) prize winners will be invited to the Casa Grande Rotary Peace Pole Dedication and will have the opportunity to present their essays as part of the dedication of the Rotary Peace Pole
  3. Additional awards may be given by the judges if applicable.
  4. All prize winners will be announced no later than June 1. Certificates and gifts will be presented at the Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony when scheduled
